HOW TO VIDEO

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 15mm socket, ratchet with extension 
  • Drain pan
  • Philips screwdriver
  • 76mm oil filter socket
  • Rags
  • High-flash point solvent  (like brake cleaner, acetone, or paint thinner)
  • Funnel
  • 5W-30 engine oil
  • Oil filter

Oil Change Instructions

Engine Oil and Filter Change 

  1. After warming up the engine safely situate the vehicle so that you can access the drain bolt and oil filter.  
  2. Using a 15mm socket remove the 2 rear bolts and loosening the 2 front bolts of the narrow skid plate beneath the engine.
  3. Then slide the skid plate towards the rear and remove. This will allow easier access to the drain bolt.
  4. Place the drain pan beneath the engine and use the 15 mm wrench or socket to remove the drain bolt and let drain.
  5. The drain bolt is the lowest bolt on the oil pan and is facing towards the passenger side front wheel.
  6. Inspect the drain bolt O-ring for any tears and then tighten.
  7. Locate the 5 plastic Philips screw clips inside the driver side wheel well just behind the top of the wheel and remove.
  8. Lowering the flap held on by the clips will allow access to the oil filter.
  9. Place the drain pan just behind the crossmember close to the drivers wheel. You will notice a spout for the oil filter to drain into upon removal.
  10. Remove the oil filter using an oil filter socket and let drain.
  11. Replace the oil filter and clean the surrounding area.
  12. Pour in the specified amount of oil and then start the engine to circulate and build oil pressure, then shut off.
  13. Check for any leaks and then reinstall the skid plate.
  14. Check engine oil level and add oil if necessary

Oil life reset:

  1. Situate Turn the ignition key to the on position.
  2. For vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the START/STOP button for two seconds without pressing the brake pedal.
  3. The engine can also be running for this procedure.
  4. Use the arrows on the steering wheel to select SETTINGS then VEHICLE then OIL LIFE.
  5. Press and hold the OK button until the instrument cluster displays RESET SUCCESSFUL.
