We know you love car stuff. If you didn’t, you probably wouldn’t be reading this. So, to help you with finding other cool car resources, here’s a list of our favorite YouTube car channels.
We haven’t ranked these or put them in a particular order, we think they all do a great job of showing car fixes and how they do them. There are dozens of YouTubers out there who make great car content; let us know who we missed so we can put them in a future post!
Scotty Kilmer
Scotty Kilmer is another channel you may have heard of. He states, "I've been a mechanic for for 53 years and I'm here to share my knowledge with you! New car stuff every day. The most watched car channel in America. Never any sponsored content, just the truth!"
Scotty has almost 5 million subscribers and is just shy of 1.9 million views. From tips on used cars to restoring headlights to just about every other car repair, Scotty has you covered.
ChrisFix
As ChrisFix describes his channel, you can “Learn how to fix your own car with my easy-to-follow, step-by-step how-to style videos for both beginners and experts. Save money, know the job is getting done properly, and feel great after you fix your own car!”
He’s been on YouTube since 2008 and has 8.86 million subscribers and over 1.3 million views, so there’s a good chance you’ve already heard of him. But, if not, now is a good time to check out ChrisFix.
Humble Mechanic
On the HumbleMechanic channel, just about every area of car repair is covered. You can learn about cars, car parts and watch DIY videos. Plus, he's "a master certified Volkswagen technician" and has been fixing broken VWs for over 10 years.
The HumbleMechanic has over 650 thousand subscribers and his videos have almost 113 million views. This is a great channel to visit to learn more about the car repair world, especially if you drive a VW.
Ratchets and Wrenches
Ratchets and Wrenches states that the channel was started "as a way of helping out my fellow DIYers." If you're looking for a way to get more familiar with what's under the hood of a car, this is the channel for you.
The channel has been posting videos since mid-2012 and has 974K subscribers. With videos ranging from cleaning headlights to improving gas mileage, Ratchets and Wrenches is a channel worth watching.
South Main Auto
The owner of the South Main Auto channel, Eric O., states that he owns and operates "a small town 3 bay shop in upstate NY." He gre up in the automotive industry working in his parent's shop and has well over 20 years' experience working with domestic and Asian vehicles.
He has almost 700K subscribers that regularly watch videos of his day-to-day automotive repairs in his shop.
Eric The Car Guy
The Eric the Car Guy channel has over 1.67 million subscribers so you may already be familiar with this one. But, if you're not, it's a great place to watch videos on "Engines, Engine Performance, Automotive Electrical, Brakes, Suspensions, Manual Transmissions, Automotive Transmissions, HVAC, Vehicle Modifications, Body and much, much more."
The channel has over 800 videos posted, including a lot involving Hondas. It's a channel worth checking out, especially if you own a Honda and are planning on using an oil change kit from poweroilcenter.com.
Engineering Explained
Jason Fenske, the channel owner of Engineering Explained, is "a graduated mechanical engineer with a passion for cars." He goes on to say his "goal is to help other people passionate about cars learn how they work."
Engineering Explained has 3.2 million subscribers and his videos have been viewed over 570 million times. If you're one of the handful of people who haven't searched the channel, it's probably time to change that.
John Sadler's Auto Repair
This hidden gem of a channel might not have as many subscribers as some of the others, but it should! John Sadler's Auto Repair describes its videos as showing "Automotive diagnostics and repair on a large variety of vehicles to show the world how things should be done to a factory standard."
Although the subscribers are lower when compared to a lot of other channels, in the roughly 10 years it's been active, there are over 9 million views. It's definitely worth a watch.
Bundy's Garage
The Bundy's Garage channel "gives you the knowledge and confidence to do the job yourself and SAVES you lots of money." This channel does a lot of videos on Hondas, Toyotas and Fords. So, if using an oil change kit, it's a good channel to watch.
The channel has almost 52,000 subscribers and has a ton of really good videos, including brake jobs, oil changes and a lot more.
Sarah -n- Tuned
Sarah, the owner of Sarah -n- Tuned, is "a car enthusiast and former aerospace mechanic who decided to follow her dreams and start a car channel here on YouTube." Her videos include customized work, detailing and car reviews.
She's been posting videos since 2016 and tries to get posts up every 72 hours or so. Plus, not only is she posting on YouTube, you can find her on Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms.
